The Making of Pagani Zonda R Carbon Fibre Body and Colour Logos - AUTOart

The carbon fibre texture of the Pagani Zonda R model car is created by tampon printing of the grayish lines onto the black painted body. It may look easy to print on flat surfaces; but when it comes to printing on the body shape of Zonda R with many curves, fins, openings and slots, it requires more than a hundred steps of tampon printing, one at a time, on different part of the body and then aligns all the lines to form an integral part of a carbon fibre body. Numerous trials and errors are needed for aligning all the lines accurately; it is a painstaking and time consuming process. Not only the outer surface is fully printed with carbon fibre texture, the inner surface of the front and rear canopies are also printed with the same texture. Coloured logos and lines are then tampon printed on top of the carbon fibre texture and water-transfer metallic decals are applied at the final stage. Altogether the colouring work requires more than two hundreds templates of printing and mask spray. More than a hundred workers will be needed to carry out such processes.
