Replicating a car's rubber trims, plastic skirts, lower aprons and inner lining on a scale die cast model is to spray paint the black color onto the area by masking the surrounding. There are always minor over-spray paints penetrated into the masking area, which need to be checked and cleaned by hand. On the other hand, there are also areas that are under-sprayed, which need to be retouched by hand using a brush pen.

Replicating Metal Hose Clamps - AUTOart

Rubber hoses in a car are secured by metal hose clamps. To replicate the metal hose clamp in a scale 1/18 die cast model car, adhesive metal foil is cut into thin stripes and the worker carefully rolls the tiny stripes of metal foil around the black painted plastic rubber hoses. A car engine has many hose clamps, workers need to roll them one by one by hand.
